Beliefs & Vision

Trinity congregation

Trinity Free Church is a united Congregational and Baptist Church although it has never had a Congregational minister. It has been a member of the Baptist Union for many years. The generalities of what we believe can be found from here.

For ease of reference here are some of the key beliefs:

  • We believe that Jesus is Lord over all
  • We believe in the authority of the Bible
  • We believe in baptizing believers and celebrating the gift of children by a special service of dedication
  • We believe that a Church is not a building but a group of believers who gather together for worship and sharing and who are then sent out to serve God within the community
  • We believe that all people are called equally by God and that there is no function more important than any other. Some are set apart for full time service but we are all ‘ministers’ of his grace
  • We believe that our Church is just a small part of a great global family. We are strongly ecumenical and rejoice in being part of ‘Churches Together’
  • We believe in the importance of sharing our faith in a relevant and non confrontational manner

At Trinity Free Church we aim to serve God and the people of Huntingdon. We strive to keep our hearts and Church doors wide open. Our modern buildings are used every day of the week as we seek to offer Jesus’ indiscriminate love for all people.

As you scan the site you will see something of who we are, what we believe, what we do and how to link up with us. But, in short, we are just ordinary people who Jesus loves. More than that we are convinced that He loves others in exactly the same way.

So, our vision:

VisionTO WORSHIP GOD TOGETHER
through Jesus Christ, as the Holy
Spirit enables us, and the Bible guides us

TO OFFER THE GOSPEL
showing Christ’s love for people at
every opportunity, in words and actions

TO CARE FOR EACH OTHER
valuing all people equally, showing
love and strengthening our relationships,
celebrating both our diversity and our unity in Christ

TO HELP EACH OTHER GROW AS CHRISTIANS
encouraging and supporting each other in becoming
more like Christ
